Man arrested in Palm Springs for firing gun into the air after becoming upset with friend

A Cathedral City man was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he fired a revolver into the air during an argument with a friend.

Officers from the Palm Springs Police Department responded to Valencia Road for reports of shots fired at 3:40 am. A search was conducted of the area and Rocky Rucker, 31, was spotted trying to hide a yard of a residence, according to the PSPD.

Officers located a revolver near Rucker containing live and previously fired ammunition. Rucker was found to have prior felony convictions prohibiting him from possessing a firearm and ammunition.

Rucker was arrested for discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, concealing a stolen firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and several other firearms charges.
