Man beaten and robbed at Yucca Valley motel, say police

Two men were arrested and a third is at a large after police say they bound a man, assaulted him, and then robbed him at a Yucca Valley motel early Saturday morning.

Police were called after two men were seen carrying a bag while running through the parking lot of the Travelodge at 3:30 am, reports the Press Enterprise.

A man, found bound and wounded, told officers he had been robbed and beaten.

After searching the area, police found a suspicious vehicle, which quickly fled the scene before crashing into a fence about a half-mile away. Deputies found stolen items inside the vehicle, according to Z107.7.

Police arrested Lucas Clinton Mountz, 33, of Cherry Valley, and Erica Fenelle Hull, 37, of Thousand Palms at the crash. A the third suspect, identified as Christopher Garcia, 41, of Cherry Valley, remains at large.

Mountz was arrested on suspicion of robbery and Hull on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime. Anyone with info should call 760-366-4175 or 888-782-7463 if they wish to remain anonymous.
