A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle near the Palm Desert mall.
The man was struck about 8:10 pm on Town Center Way, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officials told KESQ. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Officials told the TV station the man was jaywalking.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with officials.
