Man sentenced to 27 years in prison for Palm Springs robbery spree

A man who committed a string of armed robberies throughout Palm Springs in early 2017 pleaded guilty Friday to four felony charges and was sentenced to 27 years in prison.

Daron Ellis Hill, 24, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and two counts of assault with a gun, according to KESQ. Two other charges were dismissed at the sentencing.

Hill, along with Avante Gant, 25, held up multiple customers at ATM machines in Palm Springs in January 2017. Gant pleaded guilty in January to robbery and gun possession charges but has yet to be sentenced.

Hill had prior felony convictions for burglary and robbery.
