A man was struck and killed on the 10 Freeway in the Cabazon on Saturday night after he exited his vehicle to check on it after a crash.
James Kenrod, 28, was struck about 7 pm on Saturday on the westbound 10 Freeway west of Haugen-Lehmann Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Kenrod, a Santee resident, was involved in a “non-injury traffic collision” which disabled his 2014 Subaru Legacy in the number two lane. Officials say Kenrod stepped out of his car to look at the damage and was hit by a 2008 Honda CRV.
A little more than an hour later, Kenrod was pronounced dead at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital.
There were no other injuries.
