A Huntington Beach man on Friday celebrated his 1,000th straight day of visiting Disneyland. Jeff Reitz of Huntington Beach began his streak with his girlfriend way back on New Year’s Eve, 2011. They had a goal: to visit Disneyland every single day of 2012 – which they completed successfully. But Jeff was far from being done.
Reitz spoke with KESQ ABC 7 reporter Greg Lee and said things started because when he was unemployed, a friend gifted him a season pass. But now, Reitz has a full-time job at the VA Hospital in Long Beach – but that doesn’t stop him from still visiting every day. He rides attractions on some days, while others are just spent cruising around and taking pictures.
There was no word on why Reitz’s girfriend stopped going to the park with him (or if the two of them are even still together), but he does not seem to mind her not being there as he told ABC 7, “Everybody chooses to do what they enjoy and have fun in, and this is something that I really enjoy doing.”
