A motorist was transported by helicopter to an area hospital after a crash at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Avenue 52 in La Quinta Friday afternoon.
The collision happened about 3:14 pm, according to a news release. Firefighters arrived to find the unidentified motorcyclist in the road suffering critical injuries.
