3 people are dead in Palm Springs as a result of what police are investigating as a murder suicide. The Desert Sun Reports:
At about 5:15 p.m., officers were called to an apartment in the 2700 block of East Tahquitz Canyon Way, where they found the bodies of three adults, according to police. They also found a 2-year-old sleeping in the apartment, but the child was not injured.
Police had no initial reports of gunfire and were called to the scene by an employer and family members of one of the individuals involved – who alerted authorities after checking in on the residence after not being able to reach the victims by phone. No further details have been released.
The two-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated and is expected to be released to family members.
Police are not looking for any additional suspects.
UPDATE: Democrat & Chronicle reports one of the victims was 59-year-old special education teacher Sally Knauf, a Rochester, NY resident who was in The Coachella Valley visiting family.
