Murrieta teen launches campaign to take down plastic surgeon’s obnoxious billboard

Size matters billboard

Most, okay maybe all, billboards are ridiculous and annoying. But most of us just let it go. But not one Murrieta high schooler has just had it with a plastic surgeon’s “Size Matters” campaign and decided to do something about it.

The sign is near the 15-215 Freeway interchange in the Murrieta area, reports KCAL 9. It shows two coffee cups — a smaller one, labeled “B,” and a larger one, labeled “D.” Above the cups are two words: “Size Matters.”

Oh, you mean cuz big boobies? Advertising can be so very clever.

Anna Gorski of Murrieta decided to do something about the sign – launching a Change.org petition – which, as of this posting, has over 700 backers.

“This billboard is demeaning, objectifying, and inappropriate as it attacks women’s bodies and promotes low self-esteem,” the petition reads.

But the guy behind the sign – yes, you knew it had to be a dude – Dr. Brian Eichenberg of Renuance Cosmetic Surgery Center, said he didn’t mean to offend and he is all about the ladies.

“We’re very pro women,” Eichenberg said to the Press Enterprise. “We do surgery on them all day long.”

“It’s meant to be a joke or satire,” he told KCAL 9. “It’s meant to promote discussion … We don’t want women to honestly think that ‘size matters.’”

Yeah.  Sure.  Suppose that is why those are the only words other than your business name on there, pal.

Eichenberg also said he will soon be changing the billboard, but not because of the petition.  Rather, he says it is time to try something new.

Oh joy.  Maybe it will be something about regular size versus footlong hot dogs.
