Police have arrested a 19-year-old Coachella man who they say attempted to carjack a Fed Ex truck on Saturday while wearing nothing but his birthday suit.
Coachella Police were called to Araby Avenue just before 7 p.m. Saturday night for a report of an attempted carjacking. Officers spoke to the delivery driver who said that while he was retrieving a package from the back of the delivery truck, a man entered the vehicle and demanded his keys.
The victim gave the suspect the keys, then ran to a nearby residence to call the cops.
The suspect started the delivery truck – but, according to police, he did not know how to operate the vehicle so he gave up on the carjacking and fled the scene on foot.
Sunday, police located a subject matching the description of the suspect. Albert Luna, a Coachella resident, was arrested at his place of residence without incident and booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for carjacking. There was no word on if he was wearing clothes.
