The storm that hit Southern California earlier this week and if you’re car is in the same shape that it was before the rain arrived, consider yourself lucky.
Tuesday saw a huge increase in traffic accidents as the rain poured down in Los Angeles and San Diego counties:
Amid rainy conditions, there were 275 crashes reported on L.A.-area freeways between 5-9 a.m. today, per CHP. There were only 30 during the same period last week. #LARain

Update from #CHP on #SanDiego crashes: 410 reported so far today. On a "good weather day" that number is usually around 140. #SanDiegoRain #SanDiegoWX pic.twitter.com/HSrwfkhfr6

There haven’t been any statistics released for Riverside County, but there were some pretty terrifying accidents there too.
And while you might be awesome at rainy day driving, you an never be too sure about all those cars around you. So, next time it rains – which based on the forecast may be never again – just call in sick and binge on Netflix instead.
Your car will thank you for it.
