Someone in Portland is pretty pissed about Californians.

Oregon Live reports that angry residents of Portland are slapping “No Californians” stickers on for sale signs put up by real estate agents.
And while you might think this hatred of Californians stems from the old dumb stereotypes about those from the Golden State, it is not. It is actually about home prices.
“A lot of these homes are going into bidding wars and going over ask price,” realtor Quinn Irvine told Oregon Live. “And a lot of these guys are getting outbid. And I think they’re going around to agents who have properties that have sold over ask price and putting anti-California stickers.”
Another realtor says that a “STOP THE BUBBLE” sticker was stuck on one of her signs by an unknown person.
Real estate agents admitted to dealing with a lot of out-of-state buyers – some from California, but also from New York and other states.
“There’s the lowest inventory we’ve had in over 10 years, and people are frustrated,” Irvine said. “They’re basically blaming Californians for raising their real estate prices.”
Hmmmm…I wonder if there is a place, say a desert of some kind, where the opposite is happening – and people, let’s call them snowbirds, from states and countries to the north are inflating home prices – giving real estate agents big commissions but making it unaffordable for the community’s full-time residents. I am going to go out on a limb and guess there is.
