Pro tip: If you should find a grenade laying around somewhere, it would be best to leave it where it is and call an expert (Bruno Mars perhaps?) – rather than say pick it up and bring it to a crowded area with lots of people.
Two old folks learned that lesson on Wednesday, as The Cathedral City Police Department and City Hall were both evacuated as a precaution Wednesday afternoon when some old folks brought in a grenade they found in the some of their late son’s belongings.
The couple brought the grenade in at about 1pm at which time the place was quickly evacuated. The bomb squad checked things out, found out the grenade was not a live grenade, and everyone came back to work at 3 with quite a story to tell their significant other over dinner.
