Friday was ridiculously hot in Palm Springs. Seriously though, the heat was absurd and no one was happy about it. But, as hot as it was – oh, and it was hot – it wasn’t hot enough to break the all-time record high temperature or even break the record for the date.
HOT HOT HOT! Thermal set a new record high temperature of 120° this afternoon. Palm Springs wasn't far behind tying the record at 119°! pic.twitter.com/QBPMG6PCD5

A tie???? Guess we go to penalty kicks.
Thermal did set a record for the date with a high temperature of 120, so congrats on that, I guess, Thermal.
Saturday’s forecast promises to have things cool all the way down to 112 degrees in the Coachella Valley.
How wonderful.
