A Palm Springs rental was raided on Tuesday after the owner of the home told police it was being used as a marijuana growing operation.
Brooke Gunther told KMIR that she rented the home to a woman and her male cousin. She told them she was coming by for an inspection, but they said that she can’t because they changed the locks – so Gunther accessed the house with a garage door opener and found the grow. She then contacted her tenants.
“I said, ‘you need to get your marijuana out of my house.’ And he said ‘don’t call the police. We’ll take the marijuana out and we’ll fix your house.’ And I said, ‘too late.”
The Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force raided the home Tuesday morning, but all of the marijuana was gone and so were the tenants.
“We won’t pursue charges. There is no evidence to bring charges against them at this time,” said Sgt. William Hutchinson of the Palm Springs Police Department told the TV staton.
