A man who police say struck and killed a woman in Indio Saturday night, then fleeing the scene, was arrested early Sunday morning.
Colin Havens, 30 of Palm Springs, was arrested about 1 am in the area of Highway 111 and Golf Center Parkway, about two miles from where the collision happened, reports the Desert Sun.
Police say that The crash was reported about 9:30 p.m. at Monroe Street and Valencia Avenue.
According to police that Havens was driving a 1988 BMW west on Valencia when he turned south onto Monroe and struck Elena Ramirez at about 9:30 pm. Havens then drove away from the scene.

Ramirez, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Havens was under the influence of alcohol when he was arrested, according to police. He was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence and hit and run.
