Tosten Walsh Lommen, who was arrested after a high-speed pursuit led to the discovery of a body in his car on New Year’s Day in South Dakota, has been charged in her death reports KESQ.
On Tuesday, in a declaration is support of an arrest warrant, it states that Tosten Walsh Lommen was interviewed and admitted to choking his mother. According to a felony complaint, the crime was committed around Dec. 30, 2017.
Preliminary autopsy results, released on Monday, showed Lommen’s mother, Michelle Nanette Walsh, 58, suffered a blunt trauma injury to her head with hemorrhaging to her neck muscles, according to the Desert Sun.
On New Year’ Day, police spotted saw an SUV driving at speeds over 100 mph on I-90 in South Dakota, according to CBS News. A 50-mile long pursuit ensued which reached speeds of 118 mph until authorities used spike strips to stop the vehicle.
Lommen, 30, was arrested. Police say his blood alcohol level was 0.142 and a growler smelling of alcohol and prescription bottles were found in the SUV he was driving.
Authorities searched the vehicle and found Walsh’s body wrapped in a blanket in the rear of the vehicle.
The Desert Sun reports that Lommen’s last known address was inside the Escena development in Palm Springs.
