A Palm Springs man is back with his adorable pup, Scruffy, after more than a year of searching for the lost pooch.
Michael Greer, a Palm Springs resident, had left Scruffy with a friend near Bermuda Dunes Country Club in October of last year when he had to go out of town, reports the Press Enterprise. Scruffy, a terrier, somehow escaped from the home and Greer was not able to find his dog.
A year later, Scruffy was rescued and taken to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms, where they used his microchip information to call Greer.
When Greer went to see his dog on Tuesday, staff recognized him because he had been in so many times in the past year looking for Scruffy.
“He was crying when he found out his dog was with us,” supervising animal care technician Marisa Sanabria said in a news release.
“When he saw his dog, he wanted to jump in the kennel,” Sanabria said. “He couldn’t believe his dog was here.”
