Following an insanely hot Monday, the Palm Springs area will see temperatures get even hotter on Tuesday – with forecasters calling for a high temp very close to the all-time record high temperature.
The Coachella Valley will be the hottest spot in the nation on Tuesday – with a projected high temperature hitting a scorching 122 degrees!
122°F in Palm Springs, California on Tuesday — location to watch for the most extreme temperatures across the Southwest U.S. beneath the #heatdome
Highs across the region are 10°-15°F above normal for mid-July and will set or tie daily record highs — including Phoenix at 116°F pic.twitter.com/3ypWj6XBOy— Ryan Maue | weathermodels.com (@RyanMaue) July 24, 2018
The all-time high temperature recorded in Palm Springs is 123 degrees – which has happened four times, but not since 1995. And no, Palm Springs has never reached 128 degrees no matter what the newspaper says.
Whether or not the all-time record falls, it sure looks like the daily record of 116 for July 24 will go down.
Record High Temperatures Yesterday!
Several high temp records were set Monday over the Southwest including a few in the Coachella Valley. More are expected to be set again today.

As Tuesday is just going to be gross, be sure to stay out of the sun, hydrate like a mofo, DO NOT HIKE, and do not under any circumstances leave any living thing (or chocolate) in a parked car.
For those who are a little down about the heat and need something to look forward to, may I suggest September 25 – which is only 63 days away.
