The Holidays mean that radio listeners in the Coachella Valley get a small break from non-stop Justin Bieber, country, and classic rock – which are, apparently, the only three things that the dozens of radio stations in the desert will ever play – to instead hear a little “Jingle Bells”, “Jingle Jangle Jingle”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, and, perhaps, other Christmas tunes that do not include “Jingle” in their title.
Of course, there was once a time when the Coachella Valley had a non-stop, commercial-free Christmas station even during the scorching summer months and it was amazing. But it went away. So now we have to wait until December…or just listen to Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, Pandora, satellite radio, or the billions of other options we have these days for music.
As for old school radio, the wait is no more. Sunny 103.1 began playing Christmas music this week. So, if you haven been looking for a little Holiday Cheer on the radio – and judging by the amount of Google searches we have seen in the past few weeks, you are – then you might want to tune in.
You can stream the station here.
Enjoy and have a great Christmas.
