Palm Springs is set to discuss a possible ban of plastic straws in the city next week.
The topic is expected to be taken up by the city council on Wednesday, according to the Desert Sun. The potential ban would be on the straws being handed at bars, restaurants, and businesses serving food.
Staff from the city has recommended the city conduct a survey or hold meetings with businesses in the city if the council approves moving forward with the ban.
Cathedral Citypa ssed a ban on plastic straws in November despite the fact that California has a law that requires customers ask for a straw instead of just being handed one – which seems to make sense to everyone who isn’t a trolling on Facebook.
