A mother and father were arrested on Monday after the U.S. Border Patrol discovered that, in addition to their infant son, the two were transporting over 26 pounds of meth.
Agents stopped the couple’s Honda Civic around 6:20 p.m. on Monday just south of the Highway 86 checkpoint, according to the Desert Sun. There, authorities and a drug sniffing dog discovered 19 packages of methamphetamine in the car’s rocker panels.
Child Protective services took custody of the child and the 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman – both U.S. citizens – were arrested.
