Police are looking for the driver of a blue Ford Expedition after they were last seen fleeing a crash that resulted in the death of a female passenger.

Witnesses told police that the Expedition veered off of Highway 111 west of Dune Palms Drive in La Quinta at about 8:20 am Monday morning, according to a news release. The vehicle then struck a boulder and flipped, coming to rest overturned in the center median.
Authorities arrived to find a female passenger pinned under the vehicle, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who has not been identified fled before police arrived.
Police brought in a bloodhound to track the male driver’s scent, but were unsuccessful, reports KMIR.
