A peacock got into a SoCal liquor store and it went about as you would expect

A peacock strolled into Royal Oaks Liquors in Arcadia on Monday when an employee left a door open. Now the store is out about $500 in broken bottles of wine and champagne.

“A lady said, ‘Hey, uh, you have a bird inside your store,”’ store manager Rani Ghanem told City News Service (via Pasadena Star News). Ghanem then called animal control and recorded video of the poor officer tasked with catching the bird.

The peacock is set to be released at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden on Baldwin Avenue.
