A person is dead after they were hit by a car in Rancho Mirage Wednesday evening.
The collision happened about 5:20 pm at Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Road, a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept.
The woman was prounounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed and cooperated with police. Drugs / alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
Update: The woman has been identified as Luz Tovar, 57, of Palm Desert.
