A woman has died after she was hit by a motorcycle on Saturday night in Desert Hot Springs.
The accident occurred at about 9 p.m. on Palm Drive, reports KESQ. Witnesses say that a woman walked onto the road in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle hit the woman and the driver was thrown from the bike.
Both were taken to the hospital – where the pedestrian, who was not named, succumbed to her injuries.
The motorcyclist is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fatal crash was the second in the Coachella Valley on Saturday, as a woman and her dog were killed after being hit by a pickup truck in Indio on Saturday morning.
As The Desert Sun notes, prior to Saturday, there were six fatal collisions involving pedestrians across the Coachella Valley since Jan. 1.
