A man is dead after being struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Indio Thursday evening.
Police arrived to the intersection of Calhoun and Taurus at 5:29 pm to find a male victim in the street, according to KMIR. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are seeking a driver in a light-colored full-sized pickup truck, which might have front end damage and ask any one who sees the vehicle to call 9-1-1 and anyone with more information to call (760) 391-4051.
The Desert Sun reports that 29 pedestrians have died in 2016 in the Coachella Valley after being hit by vehicles.
