A man was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a vehicle on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley on Saturday night.
The man, in his 60s, was attempting to cross the highway after shopping at Country Market near Lanning Lane, according to Z107.7. A 63-year-old woman driving a 2001 gray Toyota Avalon XL hit the man about 6:50 pm.
The man was not named. The woman was hospitalized with injuries to her face, shoulders, and chest.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
