A person was bit by a rattlesnake in La Quinta on Thursday.
Not many details were provided, but Cal Fire did send an ambulance and fire engine to respond to the incident about 9:13 am in the area of Avenue 60 and Madison. Officials said at the time of the incident that a Mercy Air transport was also responding to the scene.

There was no update on the condition of the person bit by the snake.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department notes that it is nearly peak season for rattlesnakes in the Coachella Valley (May 15 through June 15) and you should use caution while in rural areas. If bitten, they recommend the followingL
- Remain calm.
- Remove any tight clothing and jewelry before you start to swell.
- Get to the nearest medical facility.
