Photos: Joshua Tree and Pioneertown become a Winter Wonderland

A Holiday week storm moved through Southern California on Thursday brining plenty of rain to most of the area and lots of fresh snow to the rest. While Joshua Tree didn’t get the up to two feet of snow that was predicted, it did get plenty of the white stuff, leading to some great photos.

Not the storm they had predicted (they were calling for 2 feet), but impressive for the desert nonetheless. Maybe 1/2 a foot? My backyard has certainly never looked like this before. My dreams of telemarking amongst the joshua trees will have to wait though. #desertlife? #highdesert
