Photos: Snow falls in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and the Hi-Desert

The wild stretch of weather continued Sunday night in the Hi-Desert communities of Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, and Twentynine Palms, as snow levels dropped below 3,000 feet – leaving the desert floor covered in a sheet of white and giving residents and visitors a chance to take some pretty cool looking photos.

Snow is the LAST thing we thought we’d see in #joshuatree this morning. But, you know, it sure makes the desert look beautiful. And these cacti will be much happier when the sun melts their snow hats. @joshuatreeproject
