Police investigating alleged assault on 13-year-old at Palm Springs learning center

An investigation is underway after police were called to the Stepping Stone Learning Center in Palm Springs on Thursday after a 13-year-old student was allegedly assaulted by a staff member.

Police were called to the center at 12:11 pm on Thursday.  Not many details were released about the incident, but an official said that all parties were interviewed  and a report was taken and forwarded to investigators.

“The Palm Springs Police Department is currently investigating allegations of an assault of a 13 year old student by a staff member of the Stepping Stones Learning Center in Palm Springs that occurred yesterday May 17,” Lt. Frank Browning, Investigations Supervisor for the Palm Springs Police Department said in a Facebook post.

“We are investigating this incident and take all allegations of abuse seriously. A full investigation into what led up to the alleged abuse is underway in an attempt to hold those responsible and accountable for their actions.”
