Puppy found beaten, burned in plastic bag in Coachella dumpster

Just a few weeks after seven puppies were rescued from a dumpster in Coachella, another puppy is being treated after she was found in a plastic bag in a trash can with her tail cut off and part of her skin burned off.

A person rummaging through garbage on May 5 at a shopping center on Harrison St. heard the puppy crying. The person found the puppy in a Walmart bag. The owner of a nearby jewelry store brought the puppy to get treatment, according to ABC 7.

The puppy, who officials have named Hope, cannot walk because she was beaten. They also believe she was burned with a metal object, like an iron.

A $10,000 reward for information leading to the person responsible for injuring and abandoning Hope has been offered by the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation.

There is also a GoFundMe to contribute to Hope’s medical treatment.
