The one-percent will soon have a new place to vacation in Rancho Mirage – thanks to the city council approving a new $100 million dollar “6 star resort” to be built in the city.
The Thunderbird Resort Spa would cost as much as $5,000 a night to stay in (you could also buy a condo there) and would include three pools; a spa and fitness center; walking and cycling paths; and other things that might appeal to rich people.
The resort will be built on the south side of 111, in a vacant lot across from The Atrium building, and could be completed as early as 2018.
It is not clear if anyone under 30 will be allowed to stay there.
