The non-incumbent (and non-resident of the district) Ruiz announced on Facebook he will not be running for congress next year, citing a recent mild heart attack and the death of his brother as reasons for dropping from the race.
A planned kickoff event for his campaign was also cancelled.
Does “It is with sincere heartfelt sentiment..” even mean anything? Maybe insert “sadness” or something for the word “sentiment”.
