Congressman Raul Ruiz, who would surely not take an offer of 20 grand for his shitty sedan even though it Blue Books for only $5k, has announced he will be donating the money that was once donated to his campaign by Former Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet and developer Richard Meaney to Planned Parenthood, according to the Desert Sun. This after the two men, along with developer John Wessman, were charged in connection with bribery on Thursday,.
That means the $2,300 Meaney donated to Ruiz’s campaign in 2014 and the whopping $300 Pougnet donated in 2012 – maybe it would have been more if he didn’t cut his own salary – will be going to Planned Parenthood.
A campaign consultant said the decision was made right after the charges were made public and Planned Parenthood was chosen because, “Congressional Republicans are trying to defund.”
Republicans announced early in February they are targeting Ruiz in the 2018 elections – well, that is if democracy still exists next year.
