Rumors have been out there for a while that Disney was looking to add elements from the Marvel Universe to its theme parks in Anaheim – not unexpected considering that the company paid 4 billion dollars for the rights to the comic book company. But, as Marvel enters the picture, a new report says that a popular California Adventure ride will be saying goodbye.
MiceChat reports that the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will be transformed into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride in time for summer of 2017. The attraction will be closed down in September, with no exact date reported, in order to make the changes.
The timing of the ride’s reopening would most likely happen at the same time as the release of the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy – which is slated to be released in theaters on May 5, 2017.
The news, not surprisingly, has not made many people happy:
