Cinemark Movies 10, mostly known to locals in The Coachella Valley as the “dollar theater”, has closed. (Update: the theater has reopened)
The movie theater, located at Date Palm and Dinah Shore in Cathedral City, was best known for showing films late in their run at a discounted price (at one point, it was a dollar – hence the nickname).
A representative of Cinemark informed Cactus Hugs that the theater’s last day in operation was Thursday. Cinemark operates 2 movie theaters in the Coachella Valley, at the River and the newly opened cineplex in La Quinta.
