Chop House in downtown Palm Springs is closing its doors.
The restaurant made the announcement this weekend on Facebook, saying:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will be closing our doors on South Palm Canyon Drive. We’d like to thank all of you for your loyalty over the years and for many wonderful memories. This is not a final goodbye…we are actively negotiating for a new location so stay tuned for information and updates. In the meantime we hope to see you at one of our sister restaurants: Kaiser Grille, Kaiser Grille Palm Desert and Jackalope Ranch. Our last day of service will be Sunday, June 12.
The restaurant had received 297 reviews with an average score of 3.5 stars on Yelp.
It follows the closing of another downtown steakhouse, “The Falls”, which closed in October.
Update: Grind Burger Bar, which was located above Chop House, has also closed – at least temporarily.
A message on the restaurant’s website reads:
