Puddles, a hot air balloon in the shape of a penguin that has traveled the world, met its end in Cathedral City on Friday night.
The balloon, which had paired with an identical balloon named Splash, caught fire about 8:45 pm near Date Palm Drive and East Palm Canyon Drive. The owners of Puddles told the Desert Sun that it is a complete loss.
No official word on what may have caused the fire that destroyed Puddles the penguin hot air balloon. https://t.co/U7g90zxtpe
