Riverside County will allow golfing again (with restrictions)

Your grandpa can stop complaining on Facebook (and writing me angry emails) and pick up his golf clubs again, provided he follows social distancing guidelines – as Riverside County officials are allowing golfing again.

“Play is being cautiously reopened for observation,” said Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County public health officer on Monday.

The county has issued some restrictions, according to KMIR:

  • Play shall be limited to foursomes that will be required to observe social distancing (six feet separation between players at all times).
  • No caddies.
  • No large gatherings, including fundraisers or tournaments, will be permitted before June 20, 2020.
  • Face coverings, such as scarves, bandanas and neck gaiters, shall be worn by players and workers.
  • No in-person dining will be allowed at clubhouses

And while golf may be back in the county, if those on the course don’t observe the rules, it could be a short run:
