The Salton Sea area has been hit with more than 20 earthquakes Monday morning.
The Press Enterprise notes 22 quakes ranging in magnitude from 1.4 to 3.3, with the shaking starting about 2:30 am.
The quakes have been clustered 55 miles southeast of Indio near Slab City.
The area had a “swarm” of 200 small quakes strike over two days in September which had experts raising the chances of the “big one” striking.
