A San Diego man – who thought it would be a great idea to post a video of him driving a souped-up, off-road Volkswagen like and asshole around America’s Finest City – pleaded guilty to several charges Monday, including reckless driving. Oops.
Blake Wilkey, 27, who was originally charged with 26 counts, pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor charges, reports The Union Tribune.
In the 4½ minute video (below), Wilkey speeds through several San Diego neighborhoods including downtown and Ocean Beach. He drives up embankments, over curbs, and right onto people’s private property.
He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and placed on three years probation for reckless driving, exhibition speed, and failing to obtain a special event permit.
But hey, he did get over a million views on YouTube – but then so did Joe Galli – and all he had to do was silence a dumb heckler.
