Scientists just figured out how much pee is in the average pool and you’re not going to like it

Scientists, who I guess just wanted to take a break from curing cancer or making cars fly, have figured out how much urine is in the typical pool. And nope, you’re not going to be happy with their findings.

A research team with the Environmental Science & Technology Letters tested 31 pools and hot tubs in Canada and found evidence of urine in all of them. ALL OF THEM. The results found an average of 8 gallons of urine in a 110,000-gallon pool and 18.5 gallons of urine in a 220,000-gallon pool – which seems like a lot of urine, unless you just cracked the seal after drinking 10 beers, then it seems about average

Hot tubs were even worse.  According to the Guardian, a hot tub in a hotel had three times the amount of pee as the worst swimming pool.

And while not everyone is peeing in the pool, 1 in 5 people admitted in a recent survey that they do – and, clearly, there are many more who are not admitting it.  I’m looking at you, Kevin!!!!

Anyhoo.  Happy swimming, everyone!  Be sure not to swallow the water.
