Santa turned away a 7-year-old girl with autism because the guy in the red suit claimed to be afraid of the girl’s service dog.
According to the OC Register, Abcde Santos (ok…yes, that is her name) had waited in line for a half hour to see the jolly old fat man at the Shops at Mission Viejo. With her was her service dog, Pup-Cake – a pitbull.
Even after the dog was taken outside of the mall, Santa still refused to spend any time with the little girl. The Santa was fired and officials at the mall are now working with an outside agency to bring in a different Santa.
The mall also has invited The Santos Family back to visit with the new Santa- and yes, Pup-Cake is also invited.
