Southwest Airlines has announced that they will soon have flights to Hawaii, which is great news for anyone looking to get lei’d. You see, typically whenever Southwest starts flying to a spot, fares drop and traffic booms among all airlines. It’s something known as the “Southwest Effect” and it will almost assuredly make it cheaper and easier for you to fly to the Aloha State.
โWeโre thrilled to bring Hawaii next year as an option to more than 115 million customers who already fly with us annually,โ said Mike Van de Ven, Soutwestโs chief operating officer (via KTLA).
David, we know it's been awhile… but we're going to Hawaii, and we want you on one of our first flights! https://t.co/SkrSN67fw8

The closest Southwest airport to the Coachella Valley is Ontario, so I guess you can use all that money you save on a plane ticket to pay for parking since it’s too far of a drive to ask your Palm Springs neighbor to pick you up and drop you off at the airport.
