Stone Brewing is looking to get into the hotel business as they have announced a planned 99-room hotel in Escondido.
The four-story hotel would cost $26 million to build, according to the LA Times – most of that coming from all of those bombers of Stone IPA you buy every weekend, I’m sure.
And while nothing is finalized, designers have suggested some cool amenities outdoor showers in some of the rooms, food-anywhere service, a complimentary beer (available only at the hotel) when you check in, and “growler cabinets” in each room.
“It’s an environmental experience, a culinary experience, a cultural experience,” Stone founder Greg Koch told the Union Tribune. “It’s not really beer-themed — you won’t come in and experience flowing rivers of beer or hops motifs all over the place.”
The project still needs to be approved by the city, but I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t.
It is estimated that 500,000 people visit the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – which is immediately west of the hotel site every year.
