A high speed pursuit ended with a suspect crashing his car, then trying to flee on foot in Twentynine Palms on Sunday.
A deputy attempted to pull a vehicle leaving Tortoise Rock Casino about 1:30 pm due to expired registration, according to a news release. The driver, who police identified as Kout Huot, failed to stop and led police on a high-speed pursuit. A
After about two miles, Huot lost control of his car, causing it to roll over. Huot, along with passenger Cori Aragon, tried to flee the scene on foot but were quicly taken into custody without incident. Neither was injured in the rollover.
Hout, 39 of Twentynine Palms, was arrested for Felony Evading and his outstanding warrants. Aragon, 31 and also of Twentynine Palms, was arrested for Resisting, Obstructing, Delaying a Peace Officer and her outstanding warrants.
