Starbucks Corp. announced Thursday it is closing all of its3 379 Teavana stores, reports the LA Times.
The company is eliminating the chain of stores, which it purchased in 2012, because it was a drag on profits. Starbucks Chief Executive Kevin Johnson said declining foot traffic at malls was a particular issue.
Most locations will shut down by Spring 2018, according to CNN. People currently employed at Teavana locations will be invited to apply for jobs at Starbucks locations in order to preserve their jobs.
There is one Teavana store in the Coachella Valley at the Gardens on El Paseo.
