A 16-year-old was arrested in Yucaipa after police say he attempted to rob a bank in Calimesa this week.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a bank robbery on Monday afternoon at a bank on Calimesa Blvd, according to a news release. Employees reported the suspect, a white male, wearing a black beanie, blue face mask, and latex gloves, passed a note to a bank teller, demanding money.
The note indicated the suspect was armed. Before receiving any money, the suspect fled the location on a bicycle.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect as a 16-year-old male juvenile from the city of Yucaipa. On Thursday, the suspect was taken into custody after he left his residence in a vehicle.
A search warrant was served at the suspect’s residence on Sidana Road and investigators located evidence related to the crime at the residence.
The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall and charged with attempt bank robbery.
